Shape the future of production with us! As part of our agile development team, you will build and operate innovative computer vision products for the production plants of the Schwarz Group companies. Our solutions ensure the quality of goods, classify individual products, and count millions of items daily – thus making a significant contribution to a smooth and efficient production process. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a passionate Software Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong DevOps focus.

Your tasks

• End-to-End MLOps & Software Engineering : You will develop robust, production-ready Python software and be responsible for the entire life cycle of our computer vision solutions – from the first prototype through product development to final operation.
• AI Infrastructure & GPU Scheduling : You orchestrate and provision Kubernetes workloads on GPUs and ensure highly available, scalable operation of our machine learning models.
• Operations & Reliability : In addition to traditional product development, you will take the lead in all DevOps/MLOps-related matters concerning our products. You will be familiar with site reliability practices and actively promote observability, alerting, and professional incident management.
• Cloud & Bare-Metal Orchestration : Using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), you will design and automate reliable environments and Kubernetes clusters. You will work with both our cloud-managed platform STACKIT and traditional bare-metal infrastructures.

Your profile

• Professional experience : You bring experience in the field of professional software development as well as in the operation of software solutions.
• Cloud-native & tech stack: Programming in Python is part of your everyday life. Besides Kubernetes, you are familiar with other services from the cloud-native ecosystem: ArgoCD, External Secrets Operator, Grafana, and Longhorn are not unfamiliar terms to you.
• Operations & Reliability : You understand the principles behind production-ready Kubernetes environments and enjoy operating them efficiently and reliably. You have experience with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Loki, and Alloy).
• MLOps mindset: You understand the life cycle of AI models and know how to use concepts like Continuous Evaluation or tools like MLflow in practice.
• Technical interest: You already have initial experience in the field of computer vision or have a strong interest in the topic.
• Mindset : You are a true team player, enjoy working in an agile team, and have fun solving real problems pragmatically.
• Communication : You communicate with absolute confidence and poise in German and English.
