We are looking for an AI-First Full Stack WordPress Engineer who builds clean, scalable, and performance-optimized WordPress solutions while actively leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, quality, and delivery speed. This role is for engineers who already have strong WordPress fundamentals and want to grow into architectural thinking using AI as a daily engineering companion, not just an occasional assistant. Role Overview As an AI-First WordPress Engineer, you will contribute to the development of scalable WordPress systems across backend, frontend, and integrations. You will work closely with senior engineers to implement well-structured, production-ready solutions while improving engineering velocity through AI-assisted workflows. You are not just writing code, you are learning to build systems that scale, perform, and last. Key Responsibilities WordPress Development & System Implementation Develop custom themes and plugins following OOP PHP best practices Extend WordPress core using hooks, filters, and actions Integrate third-party services and APIs Assist in performance optimization and caching implementations Full Stack Development Backend: PHP (OOP fundamentals) WordPress Core architecture Custom plugin development MySQL query optimization (basic to intermediate) REST API integrations Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind Modern JavaScript (ES6+) Custom Gutenberg block development Elementor Pro AI-Enhanced Engineering Workflow (Core Expectation) This is an AI-First role. You should actively use AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) in your development workflow to: Debug faster and troubleshoot issues efficiently Refactor and improve legacy code Analyse performance issues Identify potential security vulnerabilities Automate repetitive development tasks You must: Validate AI outputs critically (not blindly copy-paste) Demonstrate strong engineering judgment Continuously experiment with AI tools to improve productivity AI is not optional — it is part of your daily workflow. Performance & Quality Ownership Implement basic performance optimizations Follow WordPress security best practices Write reusable and maintainable code Support Core Web Vitals improvements Fix bugs with root-cause thinking You move beyond “it works” toward “it works correctly and cleanly. Collaboration & Growth Work closely with senior engineers and product teams Translate business requirements into technical implementation Communicate blockers and technical decisions clearly Continuously improve through feedback and learning Requirements 3–4 years of WordPress development experience Strong understanding of: PHP (OOP basics) WordPress core structure Hooks & filters MySQL fundamentals REST APIs Experience building at least 1–2 custom plugins from scratch Experience integrating third-party APIs Practical usage of AI tools in development workflow Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Strong Plus: Cloud hosting experience Familiarity with caching layers (WP Rocket, etc.) Basic SEO technical understanding Experience optimizing performance issues What Matters Most Strong engineering fundamentals Clean and readable code Ownership mindset Willingness to learn architecture-level thinking AI-first workflow mindset Ability to grow into more responsibility
