OVERVIEW

PLEASED Learning, a high-quality NYC tutoring company, is expanding into AI Literacy. We’re looking for forward-thinking educators and technologists who can help students (grades 1–12) become confident, ethical, and creative users of AI. We are seeking prompt engineers who are also creative thinkers, patient, and enthusiastic.

We are hiring for two roles:

• AI Literacy Instructor (Prompt Engineer) – Teach students one-on-one or in small groups how to use AI tools responsibly and creatively.
• AI Curriculum Designer – Build a developmentally appropriate curriculum that introduces AI concepts, literacy skills, and project-based learning across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

EXPERIENCE

• Strong knowledge of AI and prompt engineering.
• Prior experience working with students (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or youth programs).
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex ideas in simple, engaging ways.
• Passion for education, literacy, and innovation.

PREFERRED / BONUS EXPERIENCE

• Curriculum design or educational program development (K–12 or tutoring).
• STEM or digital literacy teaching background.
• Familiarity with structured literacy, project-based learning, or technology integration.
• Comfort with digital tools (Google Suite, Canva, coding basics).
• Prior experience working with students (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or youth programs).
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex ideas in simple, engaging ways.
• Passion for education, literacy, and innovation.

DUTIES

• Teach students (elementary through high school) how to use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, MidJourney, etc.) responsibly and effectively.
• Break down AI concepts into age-appropriate lessons for different grade levels.
• Develop engaging lesson plans, activities, and projects that connect AI with literacy, writing, problem-solving, and creativity.
• If focused on curriculum design: create a scaffolded program that introduces AI literacy from grades 1–12, including lessons, activities, and assessments.
• Encourage ethical awareness and digital citizenship in all lessons.
• Collaborate with PLEASED staff and tutors to ensure consistency and quality.
