Description

The energy transition requires smart, scalable AI solutions, and these start with a strong platform. As an AI Platform Engineer at Alliander, you build the infrastructure on which data scientists and ML engineers bring their models to life. You are the bridge between technical depth and organizational impact: you design robust container environments, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and manage an on-premise AI platform. But just as important: you ensure that other teams can actually get to work with it. This is a position for 32–40 hours. You make the net better at Alliander.

This is what you are going to do

The energy transition is impossible without you as an AI Platform Engineer.

You develop and manage the on-premise AI platform on which internal teams build and deploy their AI and ML solutions. In doing so, you ensure scalability, security, and performance, and help colleagues use the platform effectively. We are creating the energy grid of the future for everyone, with everyone. And as an AI Platform Engineer, you contribute to this.

This is how you are working on the:

  • developing and managing container solutions for AI/ML workloads with Docker and Kubernetes;
  • setting up and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for deploying AI/ML applications;
  • managing and further developing the on-premise AI/ML/LLM platform;
  • monitoring and optimizing hardware acceleration (GPU/NPU) with a focus on scalability and reliability;
  • Supporting and enabling internal teams in using the platform.

You make the net more complete at Alliander

Did you know that Alliander consists of various companies working together on a reliable and future-proof energy grid? With a large team of professionals, we develop and manage the energy grid for millions of residents and businesses in the Netherlands. Everything we do, we do with an eye on the people who count on us: our customers. And thanks to our talent, we have complete confidence in the energy future of the Netherlands. Together with you, we make the energy transition possible, for and with our customers.

And you will be doing that at Technische Platformen. Within Technische Platformen, we accelerate digitalization through smart automation and standardization. Our organization-wide platforms and services strengthen product teams and contribute to a reliable, secure, and high-quality digital ecosystem. With approximately 400 colleagues, we work in six Agile Release Trains, in a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning and development.

You make it just more energetic

You do this drawing on your own strengths and talents. And you do this with us. Do you contribute to this with your technical depth and your ability to enable others? And do you complement this with:

  • HBO or WO working and thinking level.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in AI/ML infrastructure or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and the deployment of AI/ML applications.
  • Experience with hardware acceleration and on-prem infrastructure development.
  • Basic knowledge of ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and NumPy.
  • Demonstrable ability to share technical knowledge and enable teams — not just to build.

Just better arranged for you.

For this, based on a 40-hour work week, you receive:

  • a salary of €5,416 to €7,737 gross per month in scale 10.
  • an annual Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full-time) or 12.8% (part-time) of your gross annual salary. This includes an 8% holiday allowance. You can have this amount paid out, but you can also use it to buy extra days off, for example. You choose what suits you best.
  • 24.5 vacation days per year, to be supplemented with extra days purchased from your IKB.
  •  a year-end bonus in December of 6% of your annual salary.
  • the Sustainable Employability Budget (DIB). For this, you receive €700 per year, which you can use for things such as ergonomically sound home office furniture, career development, professional literature, a gym membership, or coaching.
  • the possibility to work both at the office and at home if your position allows it
