Job Description: The Platform Lead for AI Solutions is a strategic leadership role dedicated to spearheading the implementation and evolution of digital platforms and artificial intelligence technologies. You will be oversee all aspects of solution delivery, ensuring every initiative directly propels Sun Life’s strategic objectives and redefines the customer journey through modern, scalable technology. The purpose of this role will be responsible for leading and managing the implementation of digital solutions and AI technologies. Key responsibilities include: Strategic Project Delivery: Direct the end-to-end execution of digital and AI initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Customer Journey Transformation: Champion the integration of innovative AI tools to modernize the customer experience, aligning technical outputs with Sun Life’s long-term business goals. Operational Excellence: Deploy AI technologies to optimize internal workflows, significantly reduce operational costs, and enhance the efficiency of service delivery. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Architect a sustainable framework that fosters organizational innovation, encouraging the constant refinement of platform capabilities and emerging tech adoption. The ideal candidate should be a visionary leader with a robust technical foundation and a relentless drive for innovation in fast-paced environments. You are the critical link between high-level business strategy and technical execution, possessing the unique ability to translate complex AI capabilities into tangible marketing effectiveness and superior customer outcomes. Preferred skills Deep understanding of AI technologies and their application in the insurance sector Experience in Python and Java. Familiarity with REST APIs and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or similar technologies. Experience with LLM frameworks including LangChain, LangGraph, and n8n. Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL and Cosmos DB. Practical experience with AWS cloud services, especially SageMaker and Bedrock. Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes Familiarity with the insurance industry, including regulatory requirements and customer needs Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making Practical experience in leading complex projects Practical experience in working in Agile with IT multiple teams and Business Stakeholders Qualifications University graduate, preferably in IT, Computer Science or related disciplines Over 12 years of working experience Broad knowledge of financial services &/or insurance industry desirable Proven experience in implementing enterprise‑grade AI solutions and leading their end‑to‑end delivery. Extensive background in delivering and leading large‑scale, enterprise‑level AI solution implementations. Demonstrated expertise in managing and executing enterprise‑grade AI solution deployments. Strong track record in leading teams to design, build, and implement AI solutions at enterprise scale. Experience of system development on Cloud Platform Strong influencing and negotiation skills to get buy-ins from the business stakeholders from different functional team Proficiency in both spoken and written English Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Prototype & Delivery Excellence: Spearhead rapid prototyping and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) initiatives, ensuring pilot programs for commercial AI applications are delivered on time with quantifiable business results. Standards & Best Practices: Establish and champion rigorous standards for AI development, deployment, and oversight to ensure all solutions are scalable, high-quality, and reliable. Technology Orchestration: Evaluate and deploy cutting-edge AI systems and infrastructures that accelerate development speed while maintaining a focus on long-term maintainability. Continuous Process Optimization: Lead post-implementation reviews to streamline workflows, integrate feedback loops, and improve overall AI delivery efficiency. Strategic Planning: AI Roadmap Alignment: Translate high-level company goals into a concrete AI technical roadmap, ensuring technology investments directly support commercial objectives. Governance & Compliance: Oversee the governance framework for AI projects, proactively managing ethical considerations, data privacy, and legal compliance in line with global regulations. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks associated with AI implementation before they impact the broader IT infrastructure. Cross-functional Collaboration: Business & Regional Integration: Act as the primary bridge between the AI team and Business units/Regional teams to ensure localized needs are met while maintaining global architectural integrity. Stakeholder Benchmarking: Partner with data experts and governance bodies to define success metrics and ensure AI projects remain synchronized with evolving stakeholder requirements. Product Owner Alignment: Work closely with Product Owners to integrate AI capabilities into the core product lifecycle, ensuring seamless feature rollouts.
