Description

About the role

This is a new and evolving role with an Australian leader in agricultural software based in Toowoomba, QLD. You'll explore how AI and emerging technologies can be applied to real-world agricultural problems, working closely with the team and customers to identify opportunities, research new technologies, explore ideas, develop prototypes and help turn promising concepts into practical product features and solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technology to new and existing products
  • Work with customers and internal teams to understand problems and identify potential solutions
  • Research AI capabilities, market trends and emerging technologies
  • Develop and test ideas, prototypes and proof-of-concepts
  • Translate technical possibilities into practical product features
  • Help shape product requirements, priorities and future development
  • Work with engineers, designers and other team members to iterate on solutions
  • Test concepts and gather feedback to improve usability and value
  • Prepare clear documentation, presentations and recommendations for stakeholders
  • Stay up to date with developments in AI and emerging technology

About you

  • Naturally curious and loves learning
  • Enjoys solving problems and figuring out how things work
  • Confident experimenting with new technology
  • Can work independently and take ownership
  • Thinks about the customer and the end result
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and doesn't need everything mapped out
  • Communicates well with both technical and non-technical people
  • Can research, analyse information and turn ideas into practical outcomes
  • Willing to challenge existing ways of doing things

Experience in AI, technology, software, product development, business analysis, agriculture, engineering, automation or geospatial systems would be useful, but is not essential. A relevant degree in areas such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business or a related field is advantageous, although equivalent experience and demonstrated capability will also be considered.
