Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking a Manager of AI Solutions to join our Technology department. The Manager will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI powered applications to enhance legal workflows and operations firmwide. This role bridges advanced AI technology and code development with legal expertise, ensuring innovative, compliant, and secure solutions tailored to the unique needs of the legal profession. The Manager will collaborate with both Legal and Administrative teams to identify impactful use cases and oversee end-to-end project delivery. This position will improve efficiency, accuracy, and client service across the firm by facilitating the adoption of AI enabled technology solutions. As a technology thought leader, the manager will play a key role in shaping the firm's future technology strategy and maintaining its competitive advantage. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and supervise all tasks assigned to the AI Solutions team Lead the research, design, development, and deployment of AI and LLM-based solutions to enhance legal service delivery and firm operations Collaborate with attorneys, IT, and business units to identify and prioritize AI use cases aligned with firm goals Collaborate with and support the Manager of Practice & Client Solutions on the delivery of attorney facing AI Solutions Work with the Web Systems & DBA Manager & Manager of System & Network Operations for system monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning and replacement or expansion needs Manage, develop and mentor a team of developers working on AI projects including responsibility for performance reviews, performance management, compensation, etc. Oversee project lifecycles, including requirements gathering, solution architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and post-launch support Ensure AI solutions comply with legal, security, privacy, and ethical standards Evaluate new AI technologies, platforms, and vendors for potential integration into firm workflows Monitor performance and impact of deployed AI solutions; collect feedback for ongoing improvement Maintain awareness of industry trends and regulatory changes relevant to AI and legal technology Prepare project updates, reports, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of five (5) years of relevant technology experience required General knowledge of AI solutions including LLMs/Generative AI required Knowledge of law firm operations and legal client service delivery models desired Demonstrated ability to lead teams working on multiple, parallel projects Strong leader with solid organizational, supervisory, project management and interpersonal skills High level knowledge of current technologies in use (e.g., C++, .Net. SQL, Python, Power Shell, Power BI, data analytics, AI, Power Apps, GitHub, Azure ML environment) Demonstrated experience using Task and Project Management Tools. (i.e. Asana, Teams) #LI-Hybrid In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley. Detroit & Milwaukee - $127,100 to $190,700Chicago & Dallas - $139,800 to $209,800
