AI Team Leader – Spain VSN is seeking an AI Team leader to join our growing team in Spain! As AI Team Leader at VSN, you will be responsible for defining and executing the AI strategy across VSN’s existing and new products (media, broadcast, OTT, etc.). You will build and lead a small, high-impact team of engineers, working hands-on as a senior full-stack developer while driving the architecture and implementation of AI features that matter to our customers. This role reports directly to the CEO and will have a major impact on the future of VSN’s product portfolio. The successful candidate will be based anywhere in Spain, working in a remote work model with a requirement to travel to our office in Barcelona on a regular basis! What your day will look like: Strategy and Leadership Define and own VSN’s AI roadmap in alignment with company and product strategy Translate business needs into concrete AI initiatives, POCs, and product features Build, lead and mentor a high-performing AI engineering team (internal + external/partners) Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales and Customer Success to prioritize and deliver AI capabilities that drive tangible business value Hands-on Development Design and implement end-to-end AI solutions: from data ingestion and model integration to frontend UX Build and maintain production-grade services and APIs that integrate AI/ML and LLMs into VSN products Work as a strong full-stack engineer (backend + frontend) capable of owning features from concept to deployment Use tools like Cursor, Claude, and other AI coding assistants as core instruments to increase development speed and quality at scale Architecture and Operations Define the technical architecture for AI services (cloud, scalability, security, observability) Select, evaluate and integrate third-party AI platforms, models, and vendors Establish coding standards, best practices and quality gates for the AI team Ensure robustness, performance, and reliability of AI features in production Culture and Ways of Working Promote a high-pace, agile environment with short feedback cycles and continuous delivery Drive experimentation (A/B tests, fast POCs) and systematically measure impact vs. cost Evangelise AI internally, supporting training and awareness across the organization About You: Must-Have Technical Skills 6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2+ years in AI/ML, LLMs or applied data products A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a similar related discipline is essential Strong full-stack capabilities: Backend: Node.js, Python, or similar; REST/GraphQL APIs; microservices Frontend: React (or similar modern framework), TypeScript/JavaScript Databases: SQL and NoSQL; data modeling and performance tuning Proven experience integrating LLMs / AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and building applications around them (RAG, agents, workflows, etc.) Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot or similar) as a standard part of the development workflow Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Strong software engineering fundamentals: testing, code review, CI/CD, version control, security best practices Legally authorized to work in Spain Leadership and Soft Skills Previous experience leading a small engineering team or acting as a tech lead Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels: roadmap definition and hands-on coding High agility and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, and the ability to interact directly with C-level stakeholders Strong ownership mindset, bias for action, and a focus on measurable business outcomes Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Proven ability to work in agile teams and deliver in fast-paced environments Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Hands-on attitude with a proven entrepreneurial spirit and pace-setter traits Nice to Have Experience in media, broadcast, OTT, or adjacent industries Prior work on recommendation systems, search, content enrichment, or video workflows MLOps experience (model lifecycle, monitoring, retraining pipelines) Start-up or scale-up experience What We Offer: Work on innovative cloud-native media platforms used by international clients Exposure to cutting-edge AI and video processing technologies Collaborative Agile environment with continuous learning opportunities Modern technology stack (AWS, .NET, React, PostgreSQL) High-impact projects for clients in the media, broadcast, and entertainment sectors Career growth within a dynamic technology organization Challenging technical problems requiring creative and scalable solutions For information about VSN, please visit our website at www.vsn-tv.com We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
