Description
  Assists in assuring optimal patient care by delivering basic patient care under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN. Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the physical environment in the area assigned. Reports to: Surgical Services Director FLSA: Non-exempt Education: High school diploma or equivalent or 3 year's experience preferred License: Certifications: BLS Minimum Work Experience Prior housekeeping work experience desirable. Previous health care experience as Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Essential Functions Performs direct patient care responsibilities as needed. Performs multiple departmental assigned tasks that facilitate the transportation of patients, positioning of patients, room readiness and the turnover processes between surgical procedures. Keeps shelves stocked with supplies and delivers specimens to the laboratory, picks up x-rays, charts, etc. Maintains clean and orderly environment.
