Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative – Air Imports is responsible for managing import operations to ensure smooth handling of air freight shipments. This role includes monitoring pre-alerts, opening files post-booking approval, and coordinating with airlines and customs for freight availability. The primary purpose of this position is to streamline customer service interactions and ensure timely delivery, communication, and reporting of import activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of freight forwarding experience (air import preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel
  • Extremely detail oriented and well organized
  • Great customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment; able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Open files electronically after booking approvals
  • Monitor pre-alerts from emails and systems (e.g. Master DSR/E-doc/X-Control)
  • Coordinate with teams for arrival notices and documentation
  • Contact airlines and CFS for freight arrivals and customs releases
  • Arrange deliveries according to customer requirements and follow up on progress
  • Monitor ATAs/ATDs, reporting discrepancies or delays to relevant teams
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service and Break Bulk teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Mange billing and posting of costs, along with closing files for department PNL
  • Build relationships with airlines and trucking partners
  • Develop and implement processes for improved efficiency
  • Manage and analyze data reports for the team
  • Adhere to company KPI’s and any other tasks assigned by the manager
