We are seeking an energetic candidate for an Import / Export Operations Agent position for a Global Logistics Business.
The employee is responsible for processing the import/export of international air/ocean freight by preparing and processing documentation/shipment in accordance with standard freight consolidation and direct shipment procedures and governmental regulations.
Duties & Functions
-Communicate with various contacts, including customers, vendors, airlines, shipping line, trucker
-Track air import / export shipments to check current and past tracing information
-Arrange and make booking for import / export cargo shipments to airlines, shipping line and all related tasks
-Arrange and coordinate pickup transportation to/from customer’s warehouse
-Check freight to insure it complies with TSA/NVOCC regulations.
-Process Dangerous Goods Freight according to DOT and IATA regulations.
-Negotiate rates and space with the airlines,shipping line, and truckers to obtain competitive rates.
-Prepare invoices, bill file, email / mail to clients
-Data entry timely of the operations system
-Calculate weight, volume, or cost of freights to be moved
-Compile and generate monthly sales and activity reports
-Perform other duties as requested by management.
-Make suggestions to smooth out procedures and reduce costs
-Applies knowledge of customer business models and operating structures and offers logistic sales solutions that support the customer’s strategic business objectives
-Applies supply chain and logistics knowledge of the flow of materials, information, and finances involved in manufacturing and distributing products
Requirements:
-Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
-3 years experiences in Logistics field, operations procedures for air, ocean, import and -export shipments.
-Minimum requirement High School diploma or GED.
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
-Experience in federal regulations that pertain to international export of shipments, worldwide import regulations.
-Thorough understanding of international freight forwarding operations and TSA safety regulations.
-Good Interpersonal communication skills
-Team player and be ready to work in a fast-paced work environment
-Excellent calculation skills
-Highly motivated and detail oriented
-Punctual and professional
-Familiar with both Chinese and American culture
-Bilingual (Chinese/English) is preferred, but one language is also accepted
-Having NVOCC license is preferred
This position is required to start working ASAP.
