Description
Maersk is seeking an Air Route Development Manager to lead the strategic growth of our Global Air Trade lanes and deliver on annual volume and revenue targets. Based at our Karachi Head Office, this role will be responsible for building and executing trade lane strategies, strengthening our commercial position and enabling business development across key markets. The position plays a critical part in expanding Maersk’s air logistics footprint by driving cross-functional alignment, unlocking new opportunities, and elevating customer value across our network. Key responsibilities: Business development Build and Drive trade lanes & related strategies to achieve volumes budgets for Air Drive & Support Sales team at Origin/Destination thru push/pull to identify/generate new opportunities, win & grow volumes Retain & Grow YOY volumes for top existing customers on the lanes by ensuring high service levels and price competitiveness on the lanes Actively participate with products/GTM on RFQs/RFPs successful closures To undertake market research & generate sales leads for targeted pipeline attainment on trade lanes Regular travel to customers to win new and retain existing businesses To regularly network, consult with existing/potential customers in relation to their ongoing/future shipping Accountable For: To explore, secure & manage new business opportunities in accordance with the company’s focus To be focal point in commercial and operational escalations relations in Maersk network To grow the company’s share of business on strategic trade lanes & industries Consulted About: Sales activities related to the BD Push/Pull to ensure faster actions on the trade lane Volume improvement initiatives Key metrics: Volume growth GP growth Customer Satisfaction Customer retention New market penetration Pipeline growth Who we are looking for: Graduate and an experienced profile with a minimum. of 5+ years experience in the Air Freight Function in customer facing positions. Particularly experience in Freight Forwarding & 3PL roles in particular and Aviation experience in general. Leadership experience preferred. Certifications in Supply chain and business management preferred Go-getter attitude, commercial disposition. Strong Analytical skills, data driven direction setting capability Ability to work in a matrix organization Passionate focus on customers. A self-starter who can motivate others. Drives leadership on delivering results Good interpersonal, communication and excellent negotiating skills.
