Attn FERS Retirees: Earnings received as an ATC Instructor, ATC Training Instructional Supervisor, or Contractor Site Supervisor working on this program are EXEMPT from the Supplemental Annuity earnings limits for FERS retirees between the ages of 56 and 62. Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is currently seeking experienced, on-site and virtual Air Traffic Control Instructors to support delivery of Specialized Courses at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, OK. These positions support the FAA Controller Training Solutions (CTS) program. These Instructors will primarily assist in the conduct and administration of one or more of the listed courses below. They may also participate in the conduct or administration of other courses and/or in ISD projects, to include the development, revision, and maintenance of ATC Training Courses. 12051 – OE/AAA : Obstruction Evaluation – Airport Airspace Analysis 50019 – Airspace and Procedures 50053 – TARGETS : Terminal Area Routing Generation, Evaluation and Traffic Simulation 50310003 – FTA : Air Traffic Facility Training Administration (Virtual Classroom) 50314001 – QA/QC : Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program Administration 53034 – STARS / AT Coach : Standard Terminal Automation Replacement 5333001 – TBFM : Time Based Flow Management The successful candidate must possess excellent teaching and communication skills, as well as classroom management techniques, a mission-focused drive for continuous improvement, and strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems and procedures. In addition, this position may provide opportunities for mentoring other instructors, as well as input on curriculum design and development. SAIC is helping the FAA train the next generation of Air Traffic Controllers as they implement the next generation of Air Traffic Control technology. We need experienced former controllers who can blend their years of hard-won experience with these leading edge technologies to train the controllers of the future and help ensure the continued safety of our flying public for decades to come. Required Skills and Experience: US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance Candidates for these instructor positions must have a minimum of 3 years of FAA CPC ATCS experience in a FAA civilian ATCT, TRACON, or ARTCC, or other equivalent civilian facility In addition, candidates for these positions must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a staff specialist in an FAA air traffic facility, regional office, or headquarters, specializing in the area of the particular course curriculum for which they have applied Candidates for these positions must have held a qualifying position as a staff specialist and should have held a position of FAA CPC ATCS or first-level supervisory FAA ATCS within the 10 years prior to proposed appointment under this contract Desired Skills and Experience: OJTI certification and experience is strongly desired Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification is required
