Job Description Crown is searching for Air Traffic Control Radar Installation Technicians with experience in installing and/or maintaining digital Primary Airport Surveillance Radar (DASR) Systems, such as FAA ASR-9, ASR-11 models, and FAA Secondary Radar System, such as the ATCBI-6/Mode-S or comparable military primary and secondary radar systems. Military personnel with experience in radar systems perform critical roles across various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, focusing on the operation, maintenance, and support of sophisticated radar equipment are also eligible to apply. Mid-Level Installation Specialist Senior-Level Installation Specialist *The field installation and optimization positions may require up to 100% travel. Responsibilities: An installation technician for air traffic control radar systems will be responsible for installing, testing, and debugging radar systems and related equipment to ensure they function properly and accurately. Our Technicians will evaluate existing radar infrastructure and install new radar equipment used in air traffic control systems, ensuring air traffic controllers have accurate and reliable data to safely guide aircraft. Assemble and install electronic equipment, install conduit and cable ladders for power distribution, install RF waveguides and phased heliax cabling, install GPS antennas and cabling, signal cabling for communications, all which are based on Site Design Drawings and approved layout. Verify signal cable performances such as phasing, power out, insertion loss, and voltage standing wave ratio for various signal paths. Support optimization teams, as well as follow approved test plans to meet FAA commissioning criteria. Qualifications For Mid-Level Installation Technicians An Associate degree in electronics or electronic engineering technology, or equivalent military or FAA or Military training certificates Minimum of 4 years of experience in radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, antenna performance for the primary and secondary radar systems, and possess the ability to use diagnostic tools and software Understanding of electronic principles, radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, and computer systems used in radar technology Knowledge of electronics, radar systems, and troubleshooting is essential, often gained through formal education or specialized technical training. Proficiency with tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters and signal generators is crucial for system maintenance For Senior-Level Installation Technicians An Associate degree in electronics or electronic engineering technology, or equivalent military or FAA or Military training certificates Minimum of 10 years of experience in radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, antenna performance for the primary and secondary radar systems, and possess the ability to use diagnostic tools and software Team lead for equipment installation responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation of various types of radar equipment across different location across the US, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications. Strong understanding of electronic principles, radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, and computer systems used in radar technology and Knowledge of electronics, radar systems, and troubleshooting is essential, often gained through formal education or specialized technical training. Proficiency with tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters and signal generators is crucial for system maintenance.
