Description

Responsibilities:
Sabre is currently recruiting for an Air Vehicle Engineer (Junior) to support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program is providing systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program.

The selected candidate will be responsible for not limited to:

  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have a minimum of 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience must be in aircraft systems development, test, and evaluation, including hands-on experience with platform-level integration and support of critical sub-systems such as control surfaces, fuel systems, and hydraulics.
  • Direct experience in one or a combination of the following areas is required:
  • Hands-on involvement in hardware/software integration, including the integration and validation of system components
  • Support of technical teams and engineering tasks through project engineering
  • Knowledge of controlled and traceable changes to designs and documentation as part of Configuration Management
  • Contribution to safety and compliance through Airworthiness certification processes
  • Execution of Performance and Survivability impact assessments to evaluate the effects of system modifications on mission effectiveness
  • Acquisition Support, involving the preparation of technical documentation and input throughout the defense acquisition lifecycle
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
