YOUR MISSION

You will be part of the Cabin & Cargo engineering team, contributing to the strategic HBCplus project which directly enhances the future of connectivity and in-flight experiences for Airbus aircraft programs according to priorities and needs.

We’re looking for a Software Integration Specialist / Computing & Communication Development Responsible

  • You will be responsible for the complex integration of software components at both the system and equipment level, with a particular focus on managing challenging interfaces internally between equipment and externally to other systems. You will use your deep expertise in the full integration lifecycle of airborne communication systems, from rigorous specification and test definition over execution, validation and verification to post-deployment support.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical engineering with a strong IT background or IT experience.
  • Strong experience in specifying, implementing, and troubleshooting challenging software interfaces (e.g., various communication protocols, data formats).
  • Deep understanding of software integration principles, methodologies, and best practices for complex systems.
  • A background in software verification and validation, including test plan development, test case design, execution, and defect management. Ideally in an aviation environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong ability to diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues in integrated environments with attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify simple integration approaches, always prioritizing practical, down-to-earth solutions over unnecessary complexity.
  • Skills in negotiation of technical interfaces and solutions with external teams and vendors to achieve the simplest, most efficient, and most robust integration possible, taking into account practical constraints (e.g., legacy systems, budget, timelines).
  • Ability to influence stakeholders towards standardized, less complex integration approaches that minimize long-term maintenance and risk.
  • Strong understanding of standard networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, VPNs)
  • Deep understanding of core data security principles, common security vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them in integrated systems.
  • Knowledge of the following technical disciplines: mobile telecommunications technologies, WiFi technologies, IoT and/or avionics systems, virtualization solutions and IT protocols
  • Knowledge of Airbus projects/architectures such as HBC+, FSA-NG, ALNA, FCMS is an advantage
  • Experience with RBE tools (DOORS etc.)

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with coding practices and threat modeling techniques is a plus.
  • Familiarity with RF engineering is a benefit.
  • Experience in agile development methods Agile/Scrum and DevOPS environments is a plus

Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive integration strategies and detailed test strategies for software components at the system and equipment level, considering critical dependencies and potential integration challenges.
  • Analysis, definition, design, and documentation of complex software interfaces internal and external between our equipment and external third-party systems. This includes detailed interface documents, communication protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and execute V&V activities for connectivity systems. This involves developing test cases, supervising testing, analyzing test results, and ensuring compliance with performance, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve challenging integration problems, often involving multiple teams and external vendors. Utilize advanced debugging techniques and tools.
  • Work closely with software development, hardware engineering, quality assurance, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and understanding of interface requirements.
  • Creation of the detailed system documentation related to the software after the Airbus development process
  • Validation of the system software in the cascade of requirements documents
  • Cross-project cooperation and definition of uniform SW solutions
  • Control of the system SW development, integration with the Airbus internal and external suppliers, partly with agile development methods
  • Management of system SW verification in the Airbus test areas and root cause analysis of SW problems in service
  • Identification, definition and review of tasks subcontracted as part of system development
  • You will work in a project team while taking responsibility for your commitments and work collectively to a common objective, ensuring proper communication and transparency to the other team members and being flexible for adapting to the project needs
