SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Possession of the following certifications:
  • Avixa Certified Technology Specialist Installer (CTS-I) or proved track record demonstrating AV installation expertise (minimum three (3) examples);
  • Extron Control Professional;
  • Extron Authorized Programmer;
  • Extron Network AV Specialist;
  • Extron NATO Code Baseline Training (provided by Extron on demand before install);
  • Barco Unisee Certified Installer;
  • Ability to perform duties listed below.
Responsibilities
  • General Tasks:
  • Purchasing, delivering, installing, configuring, testing, and handing over a state-of-the-art AV solution for the Control Room;
  • Including and providing all necessary components such as cables, racks, etc.;
  • Performing all configuration tasks on the isolated AV LAN;
  • Installing and configuring two Cisco 9200 Series Network Switches;
  • Ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines for Extron AVoIP;
  • Control Block:
  • Installing an Extron Control Processor and NAVigator inside the AV Rack;
  • Connecting the Control Processor to the High Side Voice and Video Network via Media Converter;
  • Ensuring no programming effort is required for Control Processor Code and Touch Panel UI;
  • Audio Block:
  • Installing an Audio Block for voice capture, sound processing, and distribution;
  • Including a Televic Discussion System, Extron DSP, amplifier, and ceiling speakers;
  • Commander Desk Block:
  • Installing a Commander Desk for AV and VTC control;
  • Installing and configuring Extron TLI Pro 201 and Neovo TM23 on the desk;
  • Installing and configuring Extron NAV SD 121 and SD 501 under the desk using Extron UTS;
  • Connecting devices to AV LAN and displays, and enabling video preview and remote source access;
  • Remote Source Block:
  • Installing four remote sources in the AV Rack;
  • Installing and configuring four Extron NAV E 501 units;
  • Connecting NAV E 501 units to AV LAN, workstations (USB), and HDMI inputs;
  • Videowall Block:
  • Installing a 5x2 Barco Unisee 2 Videowall in an Audipack Frame;
  • Connecting each display to an Extron NAV SD 121 Decoder and AV LAN;
  • Codec Block:
  • Installing a Poly G62 and connecting it to the High Side Voice and Video Network;
  • Using Extron MediaPort 300 for AV-to-USB conversion;
  • Interconnecting codec I/O to AV LAN using Extron NAV Encoders and Decoders;
  • Camera Block:
  • Installing three PTZ cameras for active speaker capture;
  • Connecting cameras to AV LAN and NAV E 121 units;
  • Connecting HDMI outputs of cameras to NAV E 121 units;
  • User Desk Block:
  • Installing eleven user desks with KVM switching and AV sharing capabilities;
  • Installing and configuring Extron NA E 121 under each desk;
  • Installing Belkin Secure KVM Switches and Televic Confidea Flex discussion units;
  • Providing gooseneck microphones and wired headsets;
  • IPTV Block:
  • Configuring four IPTV channels for videowall routing;
  • Connecting PFE Decoders to Extron AVoIP Encoders;
  • Distributing audio to ceiling speakers and user headsets;
  • Enabling IPTV channel selection via discussion units;
  • Bid Package Requirements:
  • Providing pricing sheets, certifications, proof of clearance;
  • Providing line drawings for each block and the entire system;
  • Providing switch-port usage and cable overview tables;
  • General Requirements:
  • Supplementing hardware with required maintenance/support licenses (e.g., Poly+);
  • Using standardized mounting plates in Audipack frames;
  • Ensuring minimum warranty durations (1 year standard, 5 years for Extron components except Touch Panels);
  • Logistics:
  • Coordinating installation scheduling with the purchaser to minimize operational disruption;
  • Conducting a site survey and querying the purchaser for additional information post-contract award;
  • Managing shipping and handling to AIRCOM Ramstein with NCIA CSU Ramstein Warehouse support;
  • Completing installation, testing, and commissioning within two weeks;
  • Acquiring hardware and shipping it to CSSC Brunssum (NL) for Tempest Testing;
  • Installing only Tempest C Certified active components;
  • Acquiring and providing any additional non-specified hardware for professional installation (e.g., AV racks, cable management, power distribution, Cat6A cabling, patch panels, speaker/control cabling, connectors);
  • Cabling:
  • Using Cat6A SFTP or higher Ethernet cabling and HDMI cables as specified;
  • Terminating all cables properly with appropriate connectors;
  • Testing all cables using a tester (e.g., Fluke LinkIQ) and providing a detailed report;
  • Terminating all external network cabling on a patch panel inside the AV rack;
  • Labeling all cables clearly at both ends for identification and troubleshooting;
  • Providing a complete cable list;
  • Using cable management systems to maintain a clean and professional installation.
