We operate over 150 dedicated cargo aircraft, including the Saab 340B, Embraer 120, Fairchild SA227, Beechcraft 1900, and Beechcraft 99 from bases across the U.S. Basic Duties The Avionics Technician maintains the avionics system components in aircraft and on the bench $24.50 -- $42.50 per hour depending on experience and shift Refurbish avionics systems (in aircraft) Performs bench work and repair of avionics components Assures that necessary parts are ordered for repairs Performs ramp work, inspections and repair of avionics systems in the aircraft Installs, updates avionics in old aircraft, and standardizes new aircraft avionics to the fleet standards Completes paperwork, logbooks and work orders Performs other duties as assigned by Avionics Manager Requirements Must have FCC license Must have previous avionics repair experience Garmin factory training is preferred, but not required Must hold a valid FAA Aircraft Mechanic certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings Must be at least 18 years of age Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and be able to communicate effectively with other employees Must be able to interpret documents such as policy, repair and safety manuals Must be able to work various shifts Positive disposition, professional attitude, professional appearance Must meet airport badging requirements, including a TSA Security background check Successful completion of pre-employment required DOT drug screening and other required background checks Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and meet all company insurance criteria Physical Requirements Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Ability to perform repetitive tasks Work Environment May work outdoors, in weather as necessary May work near moving aircraft and machinery May work in a potentially noisy work environment Benefits Ameriflight strives to provide our employees a good work-life balance and are constantly working to improve our benefits Competitive Salary Opportunity for growth and promotion Full Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits Company provided Life Insurance 401K with company match Vacation All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other legally protected status.
