Responsibilities

OUR PURPOSE

The Lufthansa Group connects people, cultures, and economies in a sustainable way.

Your main tasks include, among others:

  • Coordinate Weight & Balance with Central Load Control; maintain trip/traffic reports
  • Supervise ramp and aircraft handling, including safety checks, fueling, catering, cleaning, cargo, crew, and passenger processes
  • Oversee loading/unloading, ensuring cargo/luggage security and compliance
  • Monitor handling performance, report delays/irregularities, and support process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, legal, quality, and SLA standards
  • Liaise with authorities, providers, and station management for smooth, cost-efficient operations
  • Lead and motivate providers, ensure staff meet LH standards, and promote Lufthansa’s brand values
  • Takeover of additional projects and/or duties required or assigne

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a combination of the below requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in aircraft handling or passenger/gate processes preferred
  • Fluency in English required; German language skills desirable
  • Knowledge of Lufthansa or other airline operations and airport procedures
  • Completion of Aircraft Handling Training, including DCS systems
  • Valid ALS Qualification and knowledge of Emergency Response (SERP) planning
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general PC skills
  • Must possess a legal work permit in the U.S.
  • Assessment screening may be required
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Able to work shifts, overtime, and handle high-pressure situations
  • Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
