THE OPPORTUNITY

Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professionals to support world class fixed wing strike fighter as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Armament. The role is based at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland and will support the Super Hornet and Growler Program for the Royal Australian Air Force.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Reporting to the assigned Maintenance Operations Manager.
  • Liaising with Boeing, Commonwealth and other Industry teams involved in maintenance operations at Amberley.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Armament).
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess an Australian NV1 Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) or the ability to obtain.
  • Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / maintenance supervisor.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership training.
  • Have a working knowledge of computer-based maintenance management systems.
  • Hold a C class driver’s licence.

Responsibilities:

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components and associated equipment within the scope of their applicable: trade, qualifications, training, competency and Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) authorisation(s).
The AME completes assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of AMO aircraft maintenance activities, sign-off, and Certification of those aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with the appropriate Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD). These maintenance activities require the application of trade qualifications and experience in the relevant trade category. Additionally, the aircraft maintenance activities may require the application of post-trade qualifications and experience.
AME conducting Certification are required to interpret Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and apply them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.
The AME shall provide mentorship to subordinate technicians in the development of their pathway to success.
