JOB TITLE: AIRCRAFT MECHANIC

Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Aircraft Mechanic to join our team working on an aircraft conversion program and heavy maintenance. This role primarily focuses on converting Q400 aircraft for aerial firefighting, involving basic mechanical tasks such as engine checks, wheel changes, structural inspections, and repairs. This is a long-term, full-time contracting position with opportunities to work in different divisions and facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy maintenance checks and repairs on aircraft.
  • Conduct engine checks, wheel changes, and structural inspections.
  • Participate in aircraft conversions to aerial firefighting models.
  • Collaborate with team members and lead hands to ensure aircraft functionality.
  • Bring basic tooling for maintenance tasks.
  • Adapt to rotating team leads and work cohesively with diverse teams.

Essential Skills

  • 2 years of heavy maintenance experience.
  • Experience with Dash 8 Q400 and other regional turbo props.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Dash 8 Q400 endorsement is advantageous.
  • Experience in northern regions such as Yukon and NW territories is beneficial.
  • 5+ years experience with 737 aircraft.
  • Experience with line maintenance and aircraft interiors.

Work Environment

Shifts are typically Monday to Friday, with 10-hour days from 6AM to 4:15PM, occasionally including overtime on Saturdays. Basic tooling is required, and you will work under rotating team leads.
