Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Provide engineering support for the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) CT156 Harvard fleet and assist in the completion of engineering projects including aircraft modifications, aging aircraft assessments and internal process improvements.

THE ROLE WE ARE OFFERING YOU:

  • Assist in the completion of engineering projects such as aircraft design changes and aging aircraft assessment projects. Work alongside other ATO (AcceptableTechnical Organization) engineers, Department of National Defense (DND) Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA), and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to complete projects and assigned tasks.
  • Prepare and provide technical reports to the Senior Design Engineer (SDE) including In-Service Monitoring reports, annual Airworthiness reports, service difficulties, fleet performance reports and others as required.
  • Provide engineering expertise in support of ATO engineering work such as aircraft modifications, structural repairs, and internal process improvements.
  • Maintain familiarity with ATO processes and work instructions and assist in revising internal processes when required to ensure compliance with the Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM).
  • Provide engineering support for ATO airworthiness related activities, including design changes and modifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work alongside a team of Technical Specialists, Engineers, and Aircraft Technicians to maintain the airworthiness of the NFTC CT156 fleet and resolve complex technical issues relating to aircraft airworthiness and engineering.
  • Manage ongoing projects; and act as the ATO’s liaison with internal and external stakeholders providing routine updates on ongoing projects.
  • Obtain Design Engineer (DE) designation to support the ATO SDE.
  • Update processes and procedures when required in accordance with the Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM).
  • Lead ATO modernization projects to improve efficiency.
