Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining UK CAA accreditation on the STE
  • Conduct all preventative maintenance activities in accordance with the Maintenance Programme for the STE and Classroom equipment, and any corrective maintenance activities
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are recorded.
  • Ensure that any Simulator Failures are logged on the fault management system.
  • Ensure that the inventory management system for spares and their repair cycles is maintained.
  • On a monthly basis assist in the preparation of the reliability and availability statistics for the STE and Classroom equipment.
  • Assist with ensuring the performance of the validation/CAA checks of the STE, including running 100% of the Qualification Test Guide per year.
  • Assist with the implementation of software backups and recovery processes
  • Attend any staff development training as required
  • Ensure that the instructor operating station and ownership databases are updated as per supplied digital aeronautical flight information file
  • Incorporation into the delivered Terrain Database updates to the visual databases limited to runway markings only
  • Ensure consumables are replenished when required, in accordance with the respective STE manufacturer processes for consumable replenishment.
  • Ensuring that tools and test equipment are fit for use and sufficient for the task and report any deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Comply with the correct engineering practices and procedures, e.g. the appropriate Health and Safety precautions are observed and the necessary documentation records are completed.
  • Ensuring no unauthorised modification is carried out on any equipment under their control.
  • Comply with all maintenance and administrative activities in accordance with the relevant CAA, ATrS and Company regulations.
  • Ensure that all outputs are fit for purpose and achieved at the most economic cost.
  • Comply with the security awareness programme within their area of responsibility.
  • Dispose of all consumable parts and waste products in accordance with national and local legislation and Thales Company policy.
  • Ensure the work area under their control, is maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Assist in the control of Spares, tools, test equipment and undertake any secondary tasks as required for efficient running of Site maintenance operations.
  • Notify the Site Engineering Manager of any personal issue that may affect the Site operation or staffing arrangements.
  • Report to the Site Engineering Manager within 60 minutes, full details of catastrophic failure or of a critical situation.
