Job Description Aircraft Types 787 737 777 Unclassified Defense Primary Responsibilities Assembly & Installation Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and structural/system components. Follow drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established procedures. Perform functional testing and ensure fit, form, and function of assemblies/components. Information & Documentation Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal, and electronic sources. Tools & Measurements Use shop mathematics and precision measuring or test instruments for assignments. Utilize tooling in assembling components into sub-assemblies or end items. Quality & Verification Verify work aligns with work instructions, process, and engineering specifications. Identify discrepancies according to procedure. Ensure equipment and tool certifications are current. Maintenance Perform minor routine machine maintenance (e.g., filters, lights, lubrication/coolant levels). Material Handling Move products within manufacturing areas using shop-assigned equipment. Complete transactions necessary for moving products to the next operation. Scheduling & Productivity Complete work within allotted schedules. Support continuous product flow by training and assisting employees at all classification levels. Training & Cross-Training Train other assembly personnel in assembly, installation, and inspection techniques. Cross-train in inspection to become SIA qualified.
