We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Airframes Mechanic III - Assistant Team Lead specializing in F-35 and F/A-18 aircraft maintenance and corrosion control for Navy/Marine Corps aviation located at Cherry Point, NC. * The Assistant Team Lead will assist the Team Lead with all contractor activities related to the overall supervision of the contract performance associated with maintenance efforts. * Serve as the Assistant to the individual receiving priorities from the Government and tasking the team to complete the priorities. Assistant Team Lead is also responsible for communicating any feedback or requirements back to the AMO/COR and for the overall completion of work when directed by Team Lead. * Possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thought in both oral and written communications. * Aviation Structural Mechanic Core Position Responsibilities: * Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions. * Completes and Maintains aircraft forms and records. * Perform routine aircraft maintenance functions * Demonstrates an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines and component parts * Operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations * Maintains aircraft hydraulic systems * Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance * Must be able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job * Corrosion Prevention and treatment * Aircraft Paint and LO training * Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems * Performs troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems. * Services ground support equipment. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on all ground support equipment * Uses blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers’ drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties Qualifications Required: * Minimum 4 years’ experience in Military aircraft maintenance is required. FAA Airframe & Powerplants (A&P) certification and relevant civilian aircraft experience may be substituted. * F-35 / F/A-18 Airframes Organizational Maintenance * Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration. * Active Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one), if required. Preferred: * F-35 / F/A-18 experience Physical Requirements: * Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed. * Must be able to climb on ladders if needed. * Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs. * Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions. * Position may require working in a confined workspace. * Position may require use/exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents. * Position is located in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment. * FIT for Duty Physical is required. * May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.
