Job Description Role: AirWatch MDM Engineer Client: Metropolitan Council Location: On-site across the seven-county metro area (primary site: St. Paul, MN) Type: Full-time, Staff Augmentation Project Overview The engineer will support and maintain the current VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch) environment while partnering with the Endpoint Engineering Team on planning and executing a future migration to Microsoft Intune. The role is hands-on and requires in-person support at Metro Council facilities. Core Responsibilities Manage and support the AirWatch MDM platform: device enrollment, policy configuration, compliance, and application deployment for iOS and Android. Provide Tier 2/3 mobile support across iOS, Android, and Windows. Manage cellular carrier portals (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) for activations and support. Work with security teams to ensure mobile standards and compliance. Track performance, reporting, and implement improvements. Support Intune migration planning: assessments, documentation, pilots, and collaboration with stakeholders. Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles. Share industry trends and best practices with leadership. Provide knowledge transfer. Qualifications Minimum Requirements 3+ years hands-on VMware Workspace ONE / AirWatch administration. 2+ years combined experience with AirWatch, mobile OS platforms, and enterprise mobility architecture. 2+ years experience managing cellular activations via Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile portals. 1+ year experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager. Preferred Skills Experience with Intune deployments or migration work. Microsoft certifications (MD-102, SC-300, AZ-104, etc.) Familiarity with Zero Trust and conditional access. IAM integration experience. PowerShell or automation scripting.
