AIT Operator (m/f/d)
To strengthen our AIT Department (Assembly, Integration & Test), we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented AIT Mechanic / Operator to join our team. In this role, you will support the mechanical AIT team in the integration and testing of instruments for space applications, mostly carried out in cleanroom environments. You will independently perform integration and measurement tasks within planned AIT activities, prepare test setups, and ensure accurate documentation of all work performed.

Your Tasks

  • Independent preparation of integration and test activities
  • Execution of mechanical integration and test tasks in ISO 5 and ISO 8 cleanrooms
  • Professional handling of tools, measuring, and testing equipment
  • Preparation of required AIT documentation (procedures, log sheets, test reports)
  • Close coordination with Quality Assurance and other technical departments
  • Performing inspections, maintaining activity records, and drafting problem reports
  • Supporting test campaigns at external test facilities (including business trips)
  • Assisting in 3D measurement activities (CMM)

Your Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training in a technical/mechanical field (e.g. industrial mechanic, precision mechanic, aircraft mechanic, mechanical measurement technician), ideally with experience in the space sector
  • Practical experience as AIT Operator, prototype assembly, or a comparable role
  • Structured and precise working style, with strong motivation and project ownership
  • Ability to perform under pressure while remaining focused on targets
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience in 3D (CMM) measurement techniques
  • Good command of English (spoken & written)

Nice to Have

  • Additional qualification as Mechanical Engineering Technician or Master Craftsman
  • Experience in hardware phases of space projects
  • Background in integration and testing of optical systems
