Description Essential Job Duties: (Other duties will be assigned as needed) Must be willing and able to do the following: · Participate in life enrichment programming to include gathering of residents; escorts to/from, assisting in life enrichment programs; and in family and social activities. · Assist residents with transportation to/from community activities and dining rooms. · Participate in housekeeping/laundry tasks to provide a clean and safe environment for residents/staff to work and live in; this may include bed making; laundry of residents’ personal items, towels, and flat linens; maintaining cleanliness of surfaces and floors in individual apartments and common areas. · Assist with dining services: plating of food in dining room, cutting food, assisting with feeding by offering encouragement and cueing. · Report and record ANY changes in resident condition (physical, psychological, behavioral, social) to nurse on duty. · Provide emotional support, encouragement, and socialization to the residents. · Apply principles of infection control, including standard precautions, hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, cleaning and disinfection, respiratory hygiene, waste disposal. · Monitor resident environment to ensure all safety standards are met or exceeded. · Assist nurses and CNAs to promptly respond to all pendants, call lights and pull cords ensuring highest level of hospitality and customer service. · Anticipate resident needs as much as possible. · Routinely make rounds of resident care areas to ensure resident wellbeing. · Provide emergency response within scope of practice. · Follow through with all assignments completely, thoroughly, and timely. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure success of community. Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Pushes and pulls up to 51 lbs. occasionally Climbs, reaches, bends and twists occasionally Talks and listens frequently Sits 2 hours per day; stands and walks 6 hours per day (combined) – 8 hr. day
