Description General Summary The dietary aide is responsible for cleaning the kitchen area. Is responsible washing, pans, silverware, dishes, utensils, in compliance with applicable food and sanitation codes as outlined in the FOOD CODE BOOK. Participates in clearing and setting dining room tables for meal service. Participates in serving the meals to residents. Responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of Charlesgate Senior Living Center Required Duties Washes, dries and restocks pots, pans plates, glasses, and silverware according to proper methods of sanitation. Cleans kitchen surfaces and equipment according to schedules. Operates assembles, and disassembles, ,cleans, and delimes the dish machine, Cleans grease trap screen daily Cleans spills immediately. Demonstrates knowledge of proper infection control techniques. Including cleaning, storage, and food handling. Demonstrated knowledge of emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports May prep salads, and desserts Empties trash after meal service Breaks down boxes before they are put into the dumpster. Sets tables in the dining room Attends meetings and in-services as required. Requirements COMMUNICATION SKILLS/ English-Ability to speak, read, and understand spoken and written directions. Ability to respond to common inquiries from residents, and regulatory agencies. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Criminal background, and finger print verification needed before hire. Prior experience as dishwasher, or food server helpful PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Required to lift, push, and pull carts and trays Expose to body fluids, infections, odors, and behavior of residents. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position. Change in temperatures from, freezers, refrigerators, and heat and humidity associated with kitchens.
