JOB SUMMARY: This position is the first point of contact for the Healthy Start program.  The responsibilities include contacting clients and scheduling and completing Initial Assessments face-to-face with them in their home. This position is responsible for providing referrals for specific services and registering them for continued Healthy Start services by completing the necessary documentation needed to assign them to a Family Care Coordinator. Other administrative duties as listed below.  Funding for this position is provided by the Healthy Start contract to improve pregnancy outcomes.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Answers telephones, schedules appointments, and takes and relays messages in a professional and timely manner. * Carry work provided cell phone and be available to receive any office phone calls, record messages, check main office phone messages and relay messages as required during the workday. * Complete purchase requisitions as needed. * Assist in developing and maintaining electronic tracking tools necessary to the Healthy Start and MIECHV program. * Maintain inventory trackers and assist with inventory counts. * Physically move and organize inventory in storage unit and office and rectify invoices with inventory counts. * Maintains organization of office supplies and educational material. With approval, replenishes as necessary. * Under the supervision of Healthy Start Supervisor, provide direct support to clients by providing resources and referrals.  * Under the supervision of the Healthy Start Supervisor, complete initial assessments face-to-face with clients in their homes or alternate locations as required by the Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines and core performance measures. QUALIFICATIONS: * Education/Experience Associate's degree required, preferably in human service-related field. Two years’ experience working with families preferred. * Other Requirements Valid Florida driver license and insurable by agency’s current insurance carrier. Must successfully clear Level II Background Screen. Must possess an acceptable driving record and have reliable transportation. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Excellent knowledge of community resources * Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) * Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Effective public speaking skills * Ability to travel up to 75% * Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle * Ability to lift up to 20 lbs * Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed  WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally in an office environment but may also be required to visit other settings such as a client’s home or public setting, or other agencies.
