ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a seasoned Alation expert to lead our data governance efforts. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of our Alation platform, from implementation and configuration to ongoing administration and maintenance. You’ll partner with the Director of Data Governance to ensure we have a robust, well-managed data environment that supports our business goals.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead Alation Implementation: Work with our team to deliver and execute practical plans for our Alation implementation.
• Manage the Platform: Take the lead on the hands-on configuration, administration, and maintenance of our Alation server.
• Build the Metrics Catalog: Create and maintain our enterprise-wide metrics catalog within Alation.
• Enforce Governance: Define and enforce key data governance policies, standards, and workflows.
• Ensure Data Quality: Support data quality initiatives by defining rules and helping resolve issues.
• Oversee PII Data: Ensure the proper cataloging and governance of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data.
• Maintain Metadata: Make sure our data catalog has high-quality, complete metadata.
• Be the Expert: Serve as the go-to subject matter expert on Alation best practices, providing guidance and support to the wider team.
