JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Alberta Regional Company Operator is responsible for maintaining and operating a commercial motor vehicle transporting LTL and FTL as required throughout the city of Calgary and highway runs to provide coverage regionally within Alberta and surrounding area. The Alberta Regional Company Operator must understand that the company operates in a changing environment, and that he or she must be responsive to change. As a result, new directives maybe added or deleted from the list of responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid AZ (Class 1) driver’s license
  • Commercial driving experience required
  • Minimum 3-5 years LTL driving experience preferred
  • Reliable, flexible, and punctual
  • Strong communication skills
  • Values safety
  • Successfully complete Caneda pre-screen requirements

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement and allow for safe transportation of materials
  • Responsible for daily completion of all required paperwork, such as Bill of Ladings, load sheets, ELD logs, scaling truck and trailer before commencing on trips, etc
  • Perform pre-trip, inter-trip and post trip vehicle inspections and adjustments, preventive maintenance, tire chain-ups, brake adjustments and minor on-road repairs as needed
  • Pick up and deliver freight in a timely and safe manner
  • Operate forklift and work in warehouse when required
  • Completing necessary paperwork
