Te Āheinga - The Opportunity

• Perform essential daily tasks including rubbish removal, weed control, graffiti reporting, and minor maintenance.
• Work outdoors in a hands-on role that keeps the community safe and welcoming.

• Develop your skills with opportunities for training, including certification to carry out spraying.

He kōrero mōhou - About You

• You’re physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• You have experience with manual labour and using cleaning equipment, with a keen eye for detail.
• You hold a full driver’s licence. Ability to operate light vehicles a plus.
• You communicate clearly and enjoy providing courteous, helpful service to the public.
• You work well both independently and as part of a team, taking pride in your work.
• You’re reliable, proactive, and committed to health and safety at all times.
• Experience with gardening tools and spraying certification is a plus, or you’re eager to learn.

This is a permanent, full time role working 42.5 hours per week, Sunday-Thursday. You’ll be based out of Napier City Council’s operational site in Onekawa, but predominantly working across Napier’s public spaces.
The hourly rate for this role sits between $27.27-$29.01 depending on your skills and experience.
We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
