ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, Exercise Science, or related field (or working towards).
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a therapy or educational setting.
  • Understanding of neurodiversity and child development.
  • Ability to follow structured therapy programs and instructions accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Reliable, patient, and adaptable.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to support our Exercise Physiologist in delivering therapy programs for children with diverse neurodevelopmental needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has a keen interest in exercise physiology, and thrives in a collaborative, play-based environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Exercise Physiologist in planning and implementing individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Support children in performing prescribed exercises safely and effectively.
  • Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and materials.
  • Monitor and document progress, behaviors, and responses during sessions.
  • Support children’s engagement and participation in activities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
  • Communicate with families and staff regarding session updates and observations, under the guidance of the supervising Exercise Physiologist.
  • Be able to work on Saturdays
