Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our Inpatient Aged Care Occupational Therapy team at Western Health.
As an AHA at Western Health, you will work with our Aged Care Occupational Therapy team to provide care to patients with a variety of clinical presentations to improve their occupational performance and quality of life. This role enables you to work with the multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient-centered care and is supported by experienced and dedicated on-site Occupational Therapists.
Our department is friendly and supportive, this is an excellent opportunity to join our extensive Occupational Therapy team.
This role is offered on a permanent, part-time basis (30 hours per week) for a suitably skilled Grade 3 AHA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Within this Grade 3 AHA role, you will provide individual and group therapy sessions, assist occupational therapy staff in co-treatment sessions, and assist with other responsibilities which may include the management of equipment or administrative tasks. In this role you will work collaboratively with the treating Occupational Therapist to progress therapeutic interventions, provide patient education, participate in quality improvement activities, and lead student supervision.

To be Successful in this Role, you will have:

  • Certificate III or IV Allied Health Assistant qualification, or equivalent
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Valid employee status Working with Children Chec
