Overview The London Borough of Harrow is seeking an Allocations Support Officer (Emergency & Temporary Accommodation) to help deliver a professional, high‑quality service to all Housing Needs clients and to support the department in achieving its aims and objectives. The post holder will work as part of a busy team, undertaking a variety of administrative tasks, including handling general enquiries from clients and external agencies as well as carrying out reception duties. A key part of the role is ensuring that all services are delivered in line with customer needs and meet the standards and performance targets reviewed on an annual basis. About You The successful candidate will have: Educated standard to ‘A’ level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience. Experience in dealing day-to-day with the public by telephone and face to face, in a customer-orientated environment. Experience of working in an office with multiple and varied duties Able to use IT systems and keep accurate records (in Microsoft Office and other systems Able to write clear, accurate and concise letters and file notes Good organisational skills and able to prioritise work and respond flexibly to demands and deadlines. Able to work with others as part of a team to ensure that services are continuously improving Able to achieve desired targets and performance standards with minimum supervision and on own initiative and to take a creative approach to problem solving Knows how to provide high quality services within the available resources and in a way that meets customer needs.
