Position Title: Alpine Adventure Camp Leader Reports to: Snow School and Daycare Manager/ Summer Camps Supervisor  Location: Mount Washington Alpine Resort  Position Type: Seasonal, Monday–Friday, Day Shifts between 7am – 5pm (varied)   Overview   Join our dynamic summer team as a Camp Leader and inspire the next generation of outdoor adventurers! This role combines leadership, recreation, and environmental stewardship as you guide children ages 5–12 through hiking, nature exploration, and alpine adventures. Based in the stunning alpine environment, you’ll lead safe, exciting, and educational outdoor activities while creating memorable experiences for campers.   Key Responsibilities   * Supervise and engage a group of 8 campers in daily outdoor activities including hiking, nature-based games and activities. * Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate programming focused on alpine ecology, outdoor skills, safety, and environmental awareness. * Monitor camper wellbeing, ensuring emotional and physical safety in variable mountain conditions. * Uphold safety protocols, conduct equipment checks, and manage group dynamics on trails and during rides. * Assist with daily setup and takedown of camp stations, gear distribution, and clean-up. * Act as a positive role model, encouraging confidence, curiosity, teamwork, and respect for the outdoors. * Respond effectively to first-aid situations and emergencies using training and protocols. * Communicate clearly with parents/guardians and camp supervisors regarding camper needs or incidents. Qualifications   Required * Experience working with children through babysitting or coaching. * Basic knowledge of alpine flora/fauna, outdoor safety, and navigation. * Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.   Preferred * Experience working with children in an outdoor or camp setting.  * Strong skills and confidence in hiking and the outdoor environment.  * Post-secondary education or coursework in recreation, education, environmental science, or related fields. * NCCP, High Five Sport Certification or other youth coaching certifications. * WHMIS Certification * Knowledge of local ecosystems, wildlife, and environmental best practices. * Experience leading outdoor programs in mountainous or backcountry settings. * Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification, OFA Level 3 or Wilderness First Aid.    General Expectations Employees are required to comply with all policies and procedures of Mount Washington Alpine Resort. All duties are to be performed to a high professional standard. Employees are encouraged to communicate any questions, concerns, or feedback to Supervisors or Managers. Management maintains an open-door policy and welcomes constructive input to support continuous improvement.   Work Environment   This position is performed primarily outdoors in an alpine mountain resort environment and requires the ability to work in varied weather conditions, including cold/hot temperatures, rain, wind, and reduced visibility at times. Camp Leaders must be physically capable of hiking for extended periods on varied terrain while maintaining a high standard of safety and guest service.
