Every other weekend schedule. Essential Job Functions: Demonstrates the ability to perform 120 Day Recertifications or Reassessments as needed. Demonstrates the ability to administer medications, narcotics, and treatments (sterile dressing, clean dressing, proper surgical technique) including proper documentation. Demonstrates the ability to execute doctors and pharmacy orders. Demonstrates knowledge of the admission process and documentation to include initial nursing assessment and care planning process. Recognizes resident change of condition and initiates proper intervention. Knowledgeable of Residents Rights and facility Abuse Policies and Procedures. Performs other job related duties or responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by the ALSA Director. Perform and rotate on-call responsibilities if needed as well as rotate weekends and holidays. Assist with introductory and annual evaluations of CNA staff. Ensures the evaluation of clinical competence of Assisted Living Aides with check points on a trimester basis. Will act as designee in absence of Director of ALSA. Assists with orienting and supervising CNA and nursing staff. Follows up with MD’s for any changes in residents conditions, makes the necessary appointments when needed. Demonstrates ability to execute doctors and pharmacy order. Orients and supervises new CNA staff. Responsible for introductory and annual evaluations of CNA staff. Qualifications Work Area and Working Conditions: Elim Park Place Apartments, Entire campus - indoors and outside Entry Level Qualifications: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Current registration in the State of Connecticut. Must have tolerance and compassion for the geriatric population. Must be a team leader and a team player. Able to work with others. Must be knowledgeable of infection control policies and procedures and universal precautions.
