Professional Services Group is now hiring for the Youth Worker role to join Turning Point Academy working with at-risk students! PSG is a community-based social services organization seeking talented professionals like you to join our team.
Turning Point Academy (TPA) is is designed to meet the educational needs of at-risk students who need behavior modification, social/emotional support, and academic support. TPA also provides services to special education students who have not been successful in other special education settings or are transitioning back to the community from out-of-home placements. The program utilizes a philosophy of positive youth development to promote positive outcomes by providing opportunities, fostering positive relationships, and giving the support needed to build on their strengths and prevent risky behavior.

JOB SUMMARY:

As the Youth Worker, you will provide educational services to at-risk youth enrolled in Turning Point Academy. Services provide a wraparound approach that focuses on assisting youth academically and behaviorally through therapeutic intervention services, behavior and academic prevention, and intervention programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • One year of experience working with high-risk youth and families is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Interview and evaluate clients and parents to complete the intake process.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Facilitate and organize structured group sessions and activities for clients and families for all related treatment issues.
  • Maintain regular contact with parents and/or guardians to discuss client progress.
  • Safely transport clients as needed.
    LOCATION: Community Pathways Campus Racine Alternative Learning
    SCHEDULE: Full-time Monday to Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
    SALARY: $22.00 per hour
