RISE Learning Zone is dedicated to supporting teenagers who face significant challenges in their lives, providing a nurturing environment that prioritizes emotional literacy. Our unique setting in a hectare of woodland allows us to integrate horticulture, cooking, and environmental studies into our educational approach.
The role is 22.5 hours per week , term time only. Working days are: Tuesdays, Thursday, Fridays 08:45-16:15. Salary including rolled up holiday pay is paid in 12 equal monthly payments.

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Part-Time Tutor to deliver the King’s Trust Achieve Qualification to small groups of young people aged 11–16.to join our team at RISE Learning Zone. In this role, you will work closely with students who have experienced trauma and may struggle in traditional educational settings. Your focus will be on fostering their emotional growth while delivering engaging educational content.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working with young people in alternative provision, SEN, or similar educational settings.
• Familiarity with the King’s Trust Achieve Programme or similar vocational/skills-based qualifications.
• Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
• A flexible, creative, and trauma-informed approach to teaching.
• Ability to plan differentiated, inclusive learning sessions.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

• Plan and deliver engaging sessions aligned with the King’s Trust Achieve curriculum.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.
• Build positive, supportive relationships with learners to promote engagement and personal development.
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing regular feedback.
• Liaise with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies as appropriate to support student success.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages respect, participation, and progress.
• Promote the development of life skills, teamwork, communication, and resilience through the program content.
