About the Role
This position is for a Aluminium Plater / Aluminium Fabricator / Aluminium Welder with experience in Heavy Fabrication working on the manufacture or deployable bridges.
We are seeking a skilled Aluminium Fabricator - Fitter - Plater to join our dedicated team working in a state-of-the-art facility supporting long-term MOD contracts. This is your opportunity to become part of a world-class organisation manufacturing cutting-edge equipment for the defence industry.
Working with aluminium materials and using jigs and fixtures, you will fabricate and fit components in accordance with engineering drawings and strict quality standards. This is a hands-on role for a motivated individual who thrives in a high-spec, safety-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow Environmental, Health and Safety policies; identify hazards before starting work
  • Fabricate and fit aluminium materials using jigs and fixtures
  • Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to complete tasks accurately
  • Carry out visual and non-destructive inspections to ensure quality compliance
  • Use hand tools and measuring instruments with precision
  • Maintain qualifications through regular European welder approval tests
  • Report equipment issues using the approved Maintenance Reporting Procedures
  • Book job hours using the MRP system (SAP)
  • Always work in accordance with applicable safety regulations

What We’re Looking For
✅ Recognised Time Served Apprenticeship in Welding or related discipline
✅ NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Fabrication, Welding, or similar
✅ Welding qualifications to ISO 9606 (Part 1 and/or 2)
✅ ISO 14732 qualification is desirable
✅ Experience in heavy manufacturing or fabrication environments
✅ Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety
✅ Ability to read technical drawings and complete quality inspections
