DEPARTMENT: Die Shop JOB TITLE: Aluminum Extrusion Die Technician REPORTS TO: Shift Facilitator with direction from the Team Captain SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: Training will be on 1st Shift. Position is on 3rd shift. 1st Shift Training Hours Monday to Thursday (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) over the course of 4 days (40+ hours). Friday or Saturday could be scheduled as needed. 3rd Shift Hours Sunday night to Wednesday night (9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) over the course of 4 days (40+ hours). Friday (Thursday night) or Saturday (Friday night) could be scheduled as needed. We are currently seeking an Aluminum Extrusion Die Technician. The position is primarily responsible for examining dies and press tooling to recommend and perform modifications and improvements. Some experience is required. 5 years plus is preferred. Attach a resume to the job application.    What You Will Be Responsible For: * Repair and preventative maintenance of production tooling * Operate equipment such mills, cranes, die oven use and nitriding system safely * Ability to wear proper PPE for tasks associated with operations * Ability to accurately use calipers/micrometers, bore scope, feeler and pin gauges * Rework and repair all die tooling as necessary with the guidance of Group Leader/Supervisor. * Review die inspection reports for proper corrective action * Must be able to read/understand blueprints * Must know how to polish and flatten bearings * Must have strong problem-solving ability * Evaluate existing tooling for replacement * Inspect new dies upon arrival from vendor * Evaluate test dies * Assist other personnel or perform other duties as instructed by Supervisor/Group Leader * Keep work areas safe and clean * Inform supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems associated with requirements/responsibilities * Must understand reaction to die tooling under pressure: * Must understand billet flow and temperatures * Must know the differences in 6000 series alloys * Must be computer literate   Work Environment / Physical Demands:    * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. * The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
