Description

We are looking for a skilled Aluminum Fabricator to join our team and contribute to the precision and quality our customers expect.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in aluminum fabrication (glass and glazing industry experience is an asset).
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift/move materials as required.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in a fabrication shop.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour

Responsibilities

 Receive fabrication drawings from the Production Supervisor. Check fabrication package for:
o complete package including accessories
o accuracy of information
o special requirements before cutting material
o cutting list, if supplied, is accurate, compare against Fabrication drawings
o fabrication drawings coincide with Architectural drawings (quick check)
 Attend production meetings when / if required
 Fabricating and constructing metal components
 Check shop work orders to ensure they are being completed in a timely manner, as per the customer
requirements
 Ensure work orders are signed by the employee who handles the request
 Ensure machinery is in safe working condition by lubrication, cleaning etc.
 Report any concerns to the Shop Manager
 Ensure the work area is kept clean daily:
o Floors are kept clear of any debris
o Electrical cords wrapped and put away
o Ensure Workplace Health & Safety policy is followed
 Follow the company policies, goals, and objectives for the Company and the Production Department
 All employees must always wear proper footwear and hearing/eye protection when required
 Reads and interprets shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and the sequence of
operation
 Selects, positions, and secures dies and fixtures onto the machine, using a rule, a square, shims, templates,
hand tools, and built-in gauges when required
 Starts the machine and observes the machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies, or adjust
machine settings for multiple or successive passes
 Inspects or measures work, using rules, gauges, and templates to ensure quality products
 Lifts work piece manually and positions and secures it on the machine table in the holding fixture
 Changes worn bending and cutting tools as required
 Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment
 Run a first piece sample at the beginning of each shift to ensure the calibration and quality of
selected machines
 Other job duties as assigned – Mainly duties with residential service work
 Responsible for being the main contact from the shop to assist when called upon
