Bracewell Marine is one of the leading marine service shipyards in British Columbia. We proudly repair, repower, and build marine vessels such as fishboats, tugboats, other commercial vessels, and private yachts up to 130 feet and 220 tonnes. Operating in the Shelter Island Marina in Richmond, BC, we are part of the extensive BC marine industry supporting the 4th largest port in North America and the logging, fishing, tourism, and pleasure craft markets.
We are looking for Aluminum Welder/Fabricators to join our shipyard’s diverse team of welder/fabricators, woodworkers, mechanics, machinists, painters, and sandblasters. Marine-specific experience is ideal but not required; experienced welders with an interest in learning the marine industry through on-the-job training are more than welcome!

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Required: Aluminum welding education and/or experience – must have or be ready to pass CWB certification (all positions)
· Asset: Marine Construction Welder Level 1
· Required: Ability to work at heights, outdoors, and in confined spaces
· Asset: Forklift, crane, confined space and/or fall protection certification (training available)
· Required: Team-player with a positive attitude and the ability to execute quality work safely and efficiently
· Asset: Knowledge of marine vessels/systems and associated trades

Responsibilities

· Weld aluminum in all positions - training provided for specific skill gaps
· Weld in enclosed/confined spaces and high elevations
· Set up and troubleshoot welding/burning equipment
· Read drawings and weld procedures
· Use basic hand tools
