Responsibilities

Cancer care scheduling is complex, requiring unique training to ensure treatments are accurate. Under general or direct management by supervisor, the Ambulatory Infusion Center Scheduler is part of a central team responsible for organizing patient schedules for the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC). This position reviews orders and authorizations to establish accurate calendars for patients. The Ambulatory Infusion Center Scheduler works with internal and external physician’s offices, including escalations from inpatient services, radiation, and home infusion, to evaluate and verify order accuracy. The Ambulatory Infusion Center Scheduler will work with Consumer Access Specialists to accurately gauge authorized periods of patient treatment and ensure patient treatment remains within period to avoid undue financial burden on patient. This position is able to work with numerous Ambulatory Infusion Center locations, nursing staff, physician’s offices, and relatable departments while multi-tasking performance and accuracy within a fast-paced environment. The Ambulatory Infusion Center Scheduler provides specialized instructions for all exams and procedures while facilitating directions to patients, facilities, and departments. The position upholds the highest customer service standards while working with the most sensitive cases and patients. The Ambulatory Infusion Center Scheduler adheres to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
