LOCATION: Stansted Airport This position is 4 days on 4 days off, 35 hours per week PAY RATE: £15.73 per hour Main Duties & Responsibilities: Working as a member of the Assisted Passenger Airport Driving Team, you will drive the Company’s specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with assistance needs to and from the aircraft to the terminal building. The Vehicles range from Minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy good type vehicles, for which full training and instruction would be given. You will also be required to assist passengers onto the aircraft, to their seat or into the ABM vehicles or terminal buildings which involves passenger and manual handling techniques. Key Responsibilities: Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet, to maintain the operational reliability of the vehicle, reporting when necessary any vehicle defaults in line with the Vehicle Inspection procedure. Drive the Company vehicles ensuring that the vehicle is safe and secure at all times Operate the vehicle safely within close proximity to the aircraft using all safety systems of the vehicle Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle at all times. Collect Assistance passengers from the gate and onto the ABM vehicles and into the aircraft using equipment as dictated by the passengers needs. This could vary from carrying passengers hand luggage down the aisle to lifting the passenger in to their seat with a pro-move sling. Collecting the passengers at the aircraft and assist with the transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques. Complete Customer service Agent (CSA) duties within the terminal when demand requires, this may include escorting passengers through the terminal/security and boarding flights or meeting arriving flights and assisting Passengers through to baggage reclaim. Ensure that the Operations co-ordinator is updated on progress of jobs at all times using PDA’s and Zello.
