The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, exhibit excellent multitasking abilities, and maintain high-quality customer service while coordinating non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT). This position requires the intake, scheduling, assignment, and routing of transportation services from various sources, including public, private, and healthcare facilities. The dispatcher will oversee transportation requests, ensure timely deployment of appropriate response vehicles, and review daily transport volumes to meet operational demand efficiently. Key Responsibilities Transportation Coordination: Intake, schedule, and route non-emergency medical transportation requests, ensuring timely and efficient service. Dispatch Operations: Oversee and issue transportation assignments to suitable vehicles based on passenger needs, vehicle availability, and route optimization. Real-Time Monitoring: Track and monitor daily transport volumes, adjusting schedules and routing as needed to meet demand. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding professionally and courteously to customer inquiries and resolving issues as they arise. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including logs, vehicle reports, and scheduling changes, in compliance with company policies and state regulations. CAD System Proficiency: Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software to manage routing and dispatch operations efficiently, ensuring the timely delivery of services. Collaboration: Communicate with drivers and management to ensure service standards are met and operations run smoothly. Qualifications Qualifications: Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is preferred. Education: Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Certifications: CPR certification is mandatory. EMD, ETC, or EMT certification required. Computer Proficiency: Ability to type at least 35 words per minute and navigate dispatch and routing software systems. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish preferred, with the ability to provide clear instructions and handle various customer interactions professionally. Drug Screen & Background Check: Must pass a drug screening, physical exam, and criminal background check in accordance with company policies and applicable state laws. Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Prior experience in dispatching, logistics, or non-emergency medical transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge: Familiarity with routing and navigation systems, as well as California traffic regulations and vehicle safety standards. Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism. Physical Demands: This position requires regular repetitive movements, including typing, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and sitting for extended periods.
