Overview Under the direction of the Administrative Director or Executive Director, the Ambulatory Administrator ensures patients are provided high quality care in a safe environment, and in a customer service and results oriented manner. Responsible for day-to-day clinical and non-clinical operations and coordinating the provision of ambulatory health care services in multiple primary and specialty care offices. Ensures that the services reflect the philosophy and standards of the providers and organization. Also responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating ambulatory health care provider services, programs and activities. Serves as a liaison between the offices, the offices of Ambulatory Services and Planning and Development, UF Health, and the various on and off campus departments. Responsibilities Works together with Physician Leaders to establish standards of ambulatory care and performance regarding responsiveness to physician and patient customers, effectiveness of support systems and appearance of physical facilities. Promotes financial viability of ambulatory services and programs through appropriate budgeting and monitoring of financial performance related to pricing strategies, revenues, expenditures, and resource management. Oversees and/or directs employee management activities within ambulatory care areas including interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions. Provides coaching and direction for staff to maximize and strengthen exceptional customer service performance while holding staff accountable. In conjunction with management, Finance, and Business Groups, ensures that ambulatory managed care opportunities are coordinated to maximize third-party reimbursement. Develops and recommends strategic and operational plans and operating policies in a cost-effective and customer-oriented manner. Implements endorsed actions and policies and monitors progress. Responsible for the cooperative planning of new ambulatory offices, renovation and improvement of facilities and establishing systems that ensure efficient and cost-effective utilization of resources, space, materials and personnel. Promotes a patient- and family-centered care environment for ethical decision making. Advocates for patients to promote optimal care and outcomes. Promotes autonomous decision making by patients. Actively participates in quality improvement activities. Reviews monthly financial statements with Providers and staff All other duties as assigned Qualifications Experience Requirements: 5 years - Progressively responsible administrative experience in an applicable ambulatory health care facility which includes working knowledge of billing and/or reimbursement, management of clinical and non-clinical staff and working with physicians, demonstrating management and leadership expertise. 5 years - Additional years at the senior management level may be substituted for years of college training required 5 years - Combination of college and equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired may be substituted required. Education: Bachelors - Business Administration, Allied Health and Health Care Management - required or Masters - Business Administration, Allied Health and Health Care Management - preferred 5-8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree will be considered Travel: Up to 50% Supervises: 1-100 - All staff who work in the clinic offices.
