JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of that assigned Site Supervisor or Manager performs activities to ensure timely and accurate posting and abstracting or patients charges and data entry functions related to front-end failures that hinder our ability to secure reimbursement.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS

High School Diploma required. Associates Degree preferred in Business or health related field.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of charge posting and abstracting experience preferably in a hospital outpatient environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass data entry & clerical skills testing. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Knowledge of ICD-9CM and CPT-4 coding. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages accurately. Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Working knowledge of department specific patient accounting systems.
