The Centre for Education and Learning in Listowel is looking to develop and grow an in-person tutoring program. We are looking for individuals who can support students with their credit attainment and general learning.
Tutoring sessions will run in person, daytime and evenings as needed. A schedule will be determined by tutor availability and student interest.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience teaching or supporting learning;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skill, and expertise in the course and/or subject area to which you are applying;
  • Applicants may be evaluated for math and language proficiency depending on experience and qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally as both a member of a team and independently;
  • Demonstrated proficiency and problem-solving skills in using technological applications and/or various online learning management systems;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow specific project requirements with excellent attention to detail.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Support Gr 7-12 and adult students with their understanding of course material and provide additional instruction to promote achievement
  • Access and provide appropriate resources to students
  • Monitor CEL student progress through various adult ed courses and reach out to students accordingly.
  • Track student attendance for funding purposes.
  • Connect with teachers as appropriate to determine and support student needs
    Note - A criminal background check will be part of the recruitment process.
